The Kappa Eta Chapter, Inc. of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.® was established to serve and uplift the residents of Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island, New York. Under the leadership of Dana Y. Lopez and Glovinia P. Wilkerson and chartered as the 57th chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., the chapter was founded by 27 dedicated members committed to advancing health equity and strengthening community wellness.

As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, Kappa Eta Chapter provides free, community-based services that reflect the sorority’s guiding principle of Service for Humanity. The chapter engages in a wide range of outreach initiatives, including health promotion and disease prevention programs, youth enrichment and senior support activities, mentoring opportunities, assistance for individuals experiencing homelessness, and health education for pregnant and parenting teens. Through its Chi Care Calls program, members extend compassion and companionship to the sick and shut-in, ensuring they remain connected and supported.

In addition to community outreach, the chapter is committed to professional excellence. Kappa Eta Chapter offers continuing education workshops for healthcare professionals, fostering lifelong learning and encouraging high standards of care within the nursing profession. Through service, education, and fellowship, the chapter continues to empower individuals and improve the overall health of the Long Island community.
